Annu G. Sharma, M.D., F.A.A.P. Dr. Sharma, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She has been in private practice in Irvine, CA since 1990. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She holds staff privileges at Children's Hospital of Orange County, Orange; Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach; and Saddleback Memorial Hospital, Laguna Hills.
Dr. Sharma was the Vice Chair (2012-2014) and subsequently the Chairman (2014-2016) of the Department of Pediatrics at Hoag Hospital, Newport Beach. She was an elected board member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, California Chapter (AAP-OC) from 2013-2017. She is the Chair of the Pediatric Health Information Technology Committee of the AAP-OC. She has served previously as the Pediatrics Chair at the Irvine Regional Medical Center. Dr. Sharma was active in attending and assisting the delivery of newborns requiring resuscitation and has continued to follow them through the years. She is now the Pediatrician for children of some of her past patients.
The Orange County Medical Association has honored Dr. Sharma with the Orange County Physician of Excellence award several times. She has volunteered time as a mentor to the school nurses of the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) since the mid 1990s and continues to serve as a board member of the Medical Advisory Board for the IUSD.
Dr. Sharma takes a deep interest in global children’s health issues; to that end she has served as part of medical teams from the USA volunteering in several countries including Kenya, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Armenia.
